Restructuring & Transitions
Altavise Standby is an annual retainer for companies that may have to let people go this year. It takes a standing discount off outplacement, the career support we give each person you let go, and includes your severance review, training for the managers who have to deliver the news, and a reset session for the team that stays.
Why it matters
The decision gets made upstairs on a Tuesday. By Thursday you are the one who has to check the severance is fair, get supervisors ready for conversations they have never had, and line up help for people who are about to lose their jobs. That is not the week to start calling around firms, explaining your business, and negotiating a scope.
Standby gets that work done in advance. The severance framework is already set, the terms are already agreed, and we already know your business when you call. You are buying readiness, and a lower price on the work itself.
What you get
What is included
$2,500 on its own. We check your packages are fair, consistent, and defensible.
$1,500 on its own. Your supervisors learn how to deliver the news properly.
$5,000 on its own. One working session that steadies the team that stayed.
That is $9,000 of work included before you have sent us a single person, and before the discount does anything. Whether the retainer works out cheaper than paying as you go depends on your year, and the pricing calculator answers that honestly rather than selling you on it.
Not the right three for your year? Any of them can be swapped for other work of similar value, leadership coaching or a manager or leadership development workshop for instance. It is one session either way, and we agree the mix when you start.
The discount
Not an introductory rate and not a one-off. The discount applies to everyone you send us for the whole twelve months, whether that is one person in March or forty in October.
You already earn automatic volume discounts at 5, 20 and 50 people in one round of layoffs. The Standby discount comes off on top of those, not instead of them.
It is a percentage, so it scales with the level. Senior and executive transitions are the most expensive people to support, and they are where the saving is largest.
How that nets out against paying as you go depends entirely on your year, and we would rather you worked it out than took our word for it. The pricing calculator does the comparison on your own numbers, with no form to fill in first.
Being straight about it
It is not required. You can send us one person or your whole site at standard pricing and never hear about Standby again. And it does not roll on quietly: Standby runs twelve months and stops unless you choose to renew, with no minimum headcount either way.
And if you are not going to use it, we would rather say so. The pricing calculator compares Standby against paying per person and tells you which is actually cheaper for your situation, including when the answer is that you do not need it.

Questions
It is the support a company pays for to help the people it lets go find their next job: one-to-one coaching, resume and LinkedIn help, interview practice, and a real job-search plan. It helps them land faster, and it protects your reputation as an employer in a town where word travels.
An annual retainer that keeps senior help on call for the year. It includes a review of your severance, training for the managers who deliver the news, and a reset session for the team that stays, and it takes a standing discount off outplacement for every person you let go while it is active.
It is an annual retainer, paid up front for twelve months. There is no minimum headcount and it does not auto-renew. The outplacement pricing calculator shows the retainer alongside what the same year would cost per person, so you can see which is cheaper for you before asking us anything.
Yes. If the severance review, manager training or team reset are not what your year actually needs, any of them can be substituted for other work of similar value: leadership coaching, a manager or leadership development workshop, or something else from our services. It is always one session, whichever you pick. We agree the mix when you start the retainer rather than leaving you with credit you cannot use.
No. Standby is never required. You can send us one person or your whole site without it, at standard pricing.
The three included services cost $9,000 if bought separately and come with the retainer, so if you would use them at all you are ahead before you send us a single person. The pricing calculator compares the two paths on your own numbers.
Yes. Volume discounts apply automatically at 5, 20 and 50 people in one round of layoffs, and the Standby discount comes off on top of that rather than instead of it. The pricing calculator shows you the combined effect on your own numbers.
Then you paid for readiness you did not use, and we would rather say that up front than let you find out later. The pricing calculator compares Standby against paying per person and shows you honestly which is cheaper for your situation.
No. Standby runs for twelve months and then stops unless you choose to renew. There is no rolling commitment and nothing to cancel.
Any company that might have to let people go this year but cannot say when. If you have let anyone go in the last year and expect to again, the math usually favors Standby.
